Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing okay! This post is going to be a goodbye post. We have come to the end of this term and I am happy to be able to attend this course and learn a lot of interesting and useful information about technology usage in 21st-century learning. I was a little concerned about integrating technology into education before taking this class. Because our generation didn't exactly born directly into the technology, we are less familiar with the tools than future learners. This course helped me to overcome my prejudice and fears a lot. I learned a lot of which I intend to use for my future students. For instance; using Wikiis and Canva for so many things like creating a poster or an infographic, or podcast making tools can be very useful while teaching English.

I enjoyed while making most of the tasks though my favorite was reviewing a book on a wiki page. Because it allowed us to see and comment our friend's pages to and I think it is really beneficial for communication between students. I would love to use this in the future for my students. As for the task I like least, if I have to pick one, I would have said, creating a podcast. Because we had a time limit, which was only a minute, and it was really challenging for me not to cross that time limit.

What I would suggest improving this lesson is well... Actually it would be nice and more enjoyable if we didn't have to take it online. But since we are currently living in a global pandemic, this was the only option. Although we had to take online classes, I am grateful for our teacher because she tried hard to teach us everything. And I know that I have learned a lot in the process:)

Thanks a lot, Dr. Kurt, for being an amazing teacher for us and making the online learning process as easy and understandable as you can. We really appreciate your effort. Goodbye and I hope we can see you in another course :D

Hello Everyone!

This week's task was to create a PSA (Public Service Announcement) about an issue relevant to Turkey. Beyza, Sinemis, and I decided to study together and worked as a group. We used "Movavi" to create our PSA. I think these kinds of group works are beneficial for socialization and communication.

Our PSA was about the pollution caused by masks. Since the Coronavirus pandemic has begun, people are wearing masks in order to protect themselves from the virus. But not all people are considerate enough to put these masks in the trash cans after they finish using them. That type of behavior eventually causes more pollution in nature and affects all kinds of living creatures; animals, plants, people. We wanted to create awareness about this problem. Hopefully, people will realize soon that the mistakes they've been making so that we can save the world together!

I think the PSA task can be given to students as homework to improve their critical thinking and researching skills. This work also allows them to work together, share their opinions, and create awareness about important topics. I would like to give this task to my students in the future because I think it can be useful for their educational skills.

Here you can check out my friends' blogs!

Hello everyone!

Our task was to create an infographic and giving some brief information about online higher education in Turkey during the pandemic and providing tips about how to be successful in online education as a university student. I used “Canva” while creating my infographic because it provides lots of visuals and templates. I think that infographics are very useful when summarizing extended and detailed topics and that’s why they can be very beneficial for the students to absorb the given lesson. The visualization is an important part of the infographics. Images, charts, tables, and maps can be used in them and help students to remember the important knowledge afterward. I think infographics are necessary for teaching especially in ELT. Because in ELT, students have to learn and memorize lots of words and topics. As an English Language teacher of the future, I would like to use infographics during the lessons, in order to make them memorable.
