Hi guys!

This post will be a little different than the previous ones because this is the final post since we are at the end of the term😪. We had lots of different tasks and I learned different things from each one of them. I am definitely going to use these in the future, as a teacher (hopefully🤞).

We did lots of team work during the creating process. Our tasks were given in a detailed form by our teacher every week so, the assignments were very clear to us. Generally speaking, the main goal of those tasks were to integrate technology into the learning process and make it more 21th-century adapted. We learned, what materials we can use to teach English language through modern and more developed platforms. For instance, I loved the idea of the teaching with Augmented Reality and would love to try this with my students. It would be a realistic and a beneficial work for them to experience and suitable for every age group. I also find the flipped learning method very useful for this generation since the people became more computer and internet focused because of the pandemic.

As a teacher, I think it is very important for us to upgrade our knowledge and catch up the new developments and methods in teaching and this course is perfect for that. I would like to thank our lovely teacher, Gökçe Kurt Tiftik, for her positive approach and sincere behaviours towards us ❤. I only wish that, we could do our classes face to face instead of online 😪. But even online, I learned so many new things and also had lots of fun while doing the tasks. Of course sometimes they were challenging but I think we tried our best and that's what matters the most. Doing the best what we can!!

STAY SAFE AND DO YOUR BEST EVERYONE!!

Hello everyone!

Today we are going to talk about our last task; "Creating a technology-enhanced project". For this work, we used the coursebook our teacher had shared with us in earlier projects. Our task was to choose a project from the book and decide how we can integrate technology into this project. We were expected to create a WebQuest for our students’ project completion process. I worked with my friend Beyza Gündoğan and you can check out her blog by clicking here.

The work we had given to our students:

You will choose one of the civilization from the unit 13 and prepare a PowerPoint slide about the ancient Anatolian Civilization you choose. After you present your presentation in class, you will prepare a poster. You can use your own photos if you have visited any of these places.

While we were doing this task, we followed the stages from WebQuest: introduction, task, process, evaluation and conclusion. We asked our students to use some platforms on the Internet to make this project more technology integrated. I can't embed the site here so I am going to share a picture and you can also use the link as well. You can check our WebQuest from here!

Hello Everyone!

Today, I am going to talk about our augmented reality project. We have expected to produce an augmented reality integrated teaching material with our partner. Our main goal was to encourage our students to use technology efficiently throughout their learning process. So, what is this augmented reality? augmented reality (AR) is a developed version of the physical world achieved through digital visual elements, sound, or alternative sensory stimuli delivered via technology. (Investopedia)

For this task, Beyza Gündoğan and I became partners. You can visit her blog page by clicking here. First, we selected a city abroad then guide our students to explore it by using AR. We decided on Budapest for this task and looked for its landmarks, museums, known foods. It was a little bit challenging for us to find some 360 videos of some places but we looked at lots of platforms and apps that our teacher had recommended. We used Canva to form our material because it offers different templates and options within. I also liked that we both could work on the same page simultaneously. Once we chose the landmarks, museums, and famous foods, we used an app called: QR Code Generator – QR Code Creator & QR Maker on Androids to create QR codes. But, this app is not necessary to scan our codes; you can also use your smartphone’s camera. Here is the outcome of our work; you can click here and visit our work on Canva’s page.

In my opinion, AR can be beneficial in 21st-century classes. Not only it provides a better presentation of information, but also it increases creativeness during the lesson. In addition to that, it also creates a fun, visualized, and interactive learning environment for the students. So, I would love to try this task on my students in the future. I think that it would be a beneficial and entertaining experience for them.

The embed link is not working so I put the pictures of the task and you can look at the link here as well.
