Augmented Reality (AR) Task

Hello Everyone!

Today, I am going to talk about our augmented reality project. We have expected to produce an augmented reality integrated teaching material with our partner. Our main goal was to encourage our students to use technology efficiently throughout their learning process. So, what is this augmented reality? augmented reality (AR) is a developed version of the physical world achieved through digital visual elements, sound, or alternative sensory stimuli delivered via technology. For this task, Beyza Gündoğan and I became partners. You can visit her blog page by clicking here. First, we selected a city abroad then guide our students to explore it by using AR. We decided on Budapest for this task and looked for its landmarks, museums, known foods. It was a little bit challenging for us to find some 360 videos of some places but we looked at lots of platforms and apps that our teacher had recommended. We used Canva to form our material because it offers different templates and options within. I also liked that we both could work on the same page simultaneously. Once we chose the landmarks, museums, and famous foods, we used an app called: QR Code Generator – QR Code Creator & QR Maker on Androids to create QR codes. But, this app is not necessary to scan our codes; you can also use your smartphone’s camera. Here is the outcome of our work; you can click here and visit our work on Canva’s page.

In my opinion, AR can be beneficial in 21st-century classes. Not only it provides a better presentation of information, but also it increases creativeness during the lesson. In addition to that, it also creates a fun, visualized, and interactive learning environment for the students. So, I would love to try this task on my students in the future. I think that it would be a beneficial and entertaining experience for them.
